Tourism leaders are calling for the tourist tax to be simplified further, ahead of charges coming into force in some areas this summer.
MSPs are considering changes to the visitor levy, which allows councils to raise funds through a fee on overnight stays.
The industry wants to see a flat fee per transaction rather than per person.
