Illegal hen harrier killings leading to decline in numbers

The illegal killing of hen harriers has led to survival rates of the birds of prey becoming unusually low.

A new survey by RSPB Scotland has found 75% of deaths in birds aged between one and two years old is down to illegal killing.

The charity has raised concerns about the future of species, which are on the red list of birds of conservation to protect their numbers.
