Hydrogen hub hoping to cement Aberdeen as net-zero capital

The first phase of the project is thought to cost around £40m.

The creation of a new hydrogen hub could help cement Aberdeen as the net-zero capital of Europe, as it looks to capitalise on the energy transition by investing millions in the new venture.

For decades, Aberdeen has focused on oil and gas, but hundreds of jobs could be created in the city if it becomes a leader in hydrogen.

Construction is due to start before the end of the year on a new hub, that eventually could see the gas exported from the city.
