Work is due to begin on a new electrical infrastructure project near Stornoway.
The Lewis Hub will comprise of a substation and converter to connect the island to the mainland.
At its peak, SSEN Transmission say it’ll employ around 400 additional workers.
But concerns have been raised over how the island will deal with the influx of people.
