The former First Minister Humza Yousaf has announced he is stepping down as an MSP at the next Scottish election in 2026.
He quit as First Minister and SNP leader earlier this year after ending a power-sharing deal with the Scottish Greens.
In a letter to Swinney, Yousaf stated that he is stepping aside to “provide an opportunity for the next generation of MSPs.”
