Humza Yousaf accused of backtracking on alcohol advertising

The alcohol industry say there's no evidence that advertising bans will reduce drinking

More than 100 families from across Scotland are accusing the First Minister of prioritising the drinks industry over people whose lives are being torn apart by alcohol addiction.

After Humza Yousaf scrapped proposals banning alcohol advertising they say he’s backtracking on the commitment to tackle Scotland’s booze problem.

The alcohol industry say that the proposed ban was disproportionate to the level of harm caused by drinking. Humza Yousaf said he’d take “a fresh look” at the issue.
