Housing crisis intensifies as number of homes built falls

The Scottish Government has a target to provide 110,000 affordable homes by 2032

Scotland’s housing crisis, which has seen four local authorities declare emergencies, intensified today after the latest figures showed a fall in the number of new homes being built.

Campaigners say the number of affordable properties being constructed is lower than it’s been for years – in response the Scottish Government said it’s better than other parts of the UK.
