Hottest day of the year so far as mercury hits 29C

Scots have been out enjoying the sunny weather as rain looms for the end of the weekend.

Scotland is sizzling in some of the hottest temperatures we’ve seen in years. Glasgow topped 27C, while in the east, Edinburgh reached 28C.

The hottest spot so far though is Drumnadrochit where the mercury got up to a scorching 29C.
