Holyrood denies claims A96 dualling plans to be scrapped

The scheme was supposed to have been delivered by 2030 but could now be scrapped.

The Scottish Government has denied claims it’s considering abandoning plans to fully dual the A96.

The SNP committed to upgrading the 86-mile route between Inverness and Aberdeen in 2011.

However, an independent review has rated the scheme less favourable than other options.
