It has been twelve years since a key waiting time target for cancer patients was last met in Scotland.
On Tuesday, a Holyrood committee heard this was down to a lack of resources, equipment and staffing.
Treatment is supposed to begin within sixty-two days of someone being referred with a suspicion of cancer – but that is not happening in almost 30% of cases.
