Historic pathway to reopen after years of restoration work

The Fairy Footsteps Trail, on the outskirts of Carnoustie, dates back to at least the mid-1800s.

A historic path linking two Angus villages is to be officially reopened this weekend after years of restoration work.

The Fairy Footsteps Trail, on the outskirts of Carnoustie, dates back to at least the mid-1800s.

It had fallen into disrepair, but legacy funding from the town’s hosting of the Open Golf Championship helped a community bid to reinstate the route.
