Hikers asked to look out for Scotland’s first meteor in a century

Scientists believe pieces of the space rock are scattered around a remote area of the Highlands.

It’s been over 100 years since the last meteorite fell in Scotland – but in July this year it will happened again.

Scientists led by the University of Glasgow are now on a mission to track it down.

They believe pieces of the space rock are scattered around a remote area of the Highlands, east of Ben Nevis.

And they’re calling all hillwalkers to help in the meteorite treasure hunt.
