Highland Council unveil £2 billion investment plans

Council chiefs spelt out their vision at a news conference in Inverness.

Highland Council has unveiled plans to invest £2bn in schools and roads over the next twenty years.

The local authority says it aims to fund the improvements by raising council tax – meaning higher bills.

But the its also pledging to generate extra income.
