Highland Council to run its own bus services has become a reality

Subsidies for privately owned bus and coach services across Scotland, largely for school runs, cost councils many millions of pounds

Twelve vehicles are serving parts of Inverness, Nairn and several nearby communities.

The local authority intends to expand the operation and save more than a million pounds in its first year.
