Councillors, meeting in Inverness, have agreed to seek Scottish Government consent for Badenoch and Strathspey to be designated a "short-term let control area".

Highland Council is edging towards a licensing scheme aimed at owners of holiday-let accommodation.

A ‘control area’ will first be established in Aviemore and surrounding communities.

A region-wide scheme could follow. It’s part of action to address soaring house prices… in an area with low wages. Haley Bouma reports.
