Heatwave hits Scotland amid warnings of disruption

Infrastructure, the NHS, and water supplies are at risk as the temperature rises

Scotland is sizzling– with temperatures across the central belt getting higher than 30 degrees in some parts.

And it’s set to get even hotter. While the soaring temperatures are being greeted with glee by many– for some its a real struggle– and it’s causing disruption to infrastructure- on trains, the NHS and water supplies.

With an amber Met Office warning for extreme heat in force, we’re also being reminded temperatures like this aren’t normal– and are another potential sign of the climate crisis’s impact.
