Health boards postpone non-urgent operations as pressure rises

The First Minister has been forced to deny claims of nurses working 24 hour shifts

Once again tonight the pressures on Scotland’s hospitals are having a major impact on patient care.

Several health boards – including the biggest – have postponed non-urgent operations so they can prioritise emergencies and cancer cases.

Sturgeon also faced further calls to sack her Health Secretary.
