Closing the attainment gap between pupils in Scotland’s most deprived areas and those in more affluent ones has been a defining mission of the Scottish Government and something the First Minister said she would be judged on.
Now, headteachers across Scotland are to get half a billion pounds over the next four years to meet that goal. They’ll be able to spent the cash how they wish – from extra teaching support to cultural experiences. Laura Alderman reports.
