It’s been almost six years since a fire at the Cameron House Hotel on the banks of Loch Lomond claimed the lives of Simon Midgely and Richard Dyson.
Last year, a Fatal Accident Inquiry found a number factors contributed to the blaze and that sprinkler systems could have “significantly” slowed the spread of the flames.
Today, a working group set up following the inquiry has announced another expert group is to be set up to determine whether sprinklers should be made mandatory when historic buildings are converted into hotels.
Simon Midgeley’s mum says she feels let down and progress is too slow.
