Green MSP Maggie Chapman survives vote after Supreme Court comments

The MSP condemned what she described as bigotry, prejudice and hatred following a ruling on the definition of a woman.

Green MSP Maggie Chapman has survived a vote to remove her as deputy convener of a Holyrood committee.

It follows her comments about the Supreme Court ruling that the term woman refers to a biological female under equality law.

Chapman condemned what she described as bigotry, prejudice and hatred coming from the court.

MSPs defeated the motion from the Scottish Conservatives by four votes to three.
