Green freeports announced at Forth and Cromarty sites

Backers say we should see the first tangible signs of progress within months

The team behind the Forth Green Freeport say it could bring up to 50,000 jobs to the central belt of Scotland.

They only found out for sure the bid had been successful when the Prime Minister made his announcement this morning.

The aim is to boost the green economy through tax breaks and there’s a plan to attract employment in renewables manufacturing to Leith.
