Ineos bosses are confirming that the Grangemouth oil refinery will close.
They told Holyrood’s Economy Committee they were making plans for May 2025 but could not pinpoint exactly when the plant will shut down.
MSPs heard it’s one of the oldest refineries in Europe and can no longer compete with bigger, more efficient operations in the far east and China.
