Golfing Greats honoured in St Andrews ahead of Open 150th Anniversary

Familiar faces return as excitement continues to build in the historic town

Ahead of the 150th Open Championship which tees off in just under 48 hours – St Andrews, the home of golf – has honoured a handful of legendary players.

Jack Nicklaus – regarded by many as the game’s greatest – received an honorary citizenship of the town. He’s the third American to receive the title. Meanwhile, five other golfing heroes were honoured by St Andrews University.
