Construction of student flats in Glasgow is ‘out of control’.

That’s according to one community council, who claim the volume of purpose-built student accommodation is altering the balance of the city’s population.

There’s been a boom in approvals by Glasgow City Council for the flats, including what will become the city’s tallest building, standing 36 storeys high.

Students have told STV News it’s a struggle to find an affordable place to live, and there needs to be a greater supply.
