Heritage leaders in Glasgow say the city – once renowned for its historic architecture and shopping mile – is like a “bombsite” and has been neglected for too long – with The Avenues Project in the city centre having faced delays.
But today the council says contractors returned to the site on Sauchiehall Street and works should be complete by the end of the year.
