Glasgow foodbank struggling to cope with demand as limits placed on food

More than a third of those living near the foodbank in Govan now rely on the service.

A Glasgow foodbank says it is having to limit the food it gives to families – because it can’t cope with demand. Instead of 20 items, families in need of help get only ten.

More than a third of those living near the foodbank in Govan now rely on the service – and with the rising cost of living that figure is only expected to increase. It comes as the Scottish Child Payment is doubled to 20 pounds a week.
