Fundraiser launched to help pay for paddleboarder’s funeral

Oakley Coveney was paddleboarding in Lochindorb when he got into difficulty

Friends of a teenage boy who died last week after getting into difficulty while paddleboarding are raising money to help pay for his funeral.

Oakley Coveney was enjoying a day out at Lochindorb near Grantown-on-Spey when the incident occurred around 5pm on April 30.

His body was pulled from the water the following day.

Oakley’s best friend, Jake, and his friends, have now launched a fundraiser to help pay for Oakley’s funeral costs and also hope to install an emergency phone and life buoys at the loch-side to try to prevent any future tragedies.
