The regiment was created out of the Queen's Own Highlanders, Seaforth and Camerons, and Gordon Highlanders.

Scots military history has been celebrated at a special event in Moray.

Veterans and serving soldiers were among those attending an anniversary at the exact spot where the Highlanders Regiment was formed 30 years ago.
