Former nurse sentenced for poisoning child with laxatives

52-year-old Tracy Menhinick gave the boy "industrial amounts" of a laxative - causing him to be hospitalised

A former nurse who poisoned a young child has been sentenced to seven years in prison.

The boy, who cannot be named, was described as resembling a survivor from a concentration camp as a result of Menhinick’s actions and, at one point when he was five years old, weighed just 10kg.
