A leading epidemiologist has told the UK Covid Inquiry the closure of schools was “handled badly” and was “baffled” they shut again during the second wave.
Professor Mark Woolhouse added the “stay at home order” was never necessary.
It comes as a former nurse with Long Covid tells STV News frontline staff were unprepared for the pandemic, and now they want answers – after losing their job, career and very nearly their home to the virus.
