Natalie McGarry was a big figure in the Yes movement – running the Women for Independence campaign and rising to become the SNP’s Glasgow East MP. But she was stealing money from the cause – spending the cash on things like rent, shopping and holidays.
She had denied all the charges, but yesterday afternoon the jury found McGarry guilty of embezzling almost £25,000 from two pro-independence groups.
