A former MP has denied embezzling cash from two organisations campaigning for Scottish independence. Natalie McGarry was giving evidence in her defence at Glasgow Sheriff Court. Ms McGarry is accused of stealing £25,000 from Women for Independence and the Glasgow Regional Association of the SNP.
The court has heard that Ms McGarry suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder, experiences panic attacks and has a condition which means, on occasion, through no choice of her own, her voice disappears.
