Scotland’s blossoming forestry sector is now worth more than a £1 billion a year to the nation’s economy and it’s claimed it’s destined to grow further.
The workforce, numbering tens of thousands, also seems secure with a 30% growth in numbers in the past decade.
Its next target is to ‘green’ the industry by taking lorries off our roads, and moving timber onto the railways.
