Food banks to shut on Queen’s funeral prompting criticism

Schools, nurseries and GP surgeries will all be affected. Supermarkets will either shut for the whole day or operate reduced hours

The day of the Queen’s funeral has been designated as a bank holiday, with many shops, services and businesses closing their doors on Monday as a mark of respect. A number of food banks have also chosen not to open, prompting criticism.
