The First Minister says a public inquiry into the investigation of Emma Caldwell’s killer, Iain Packer is “not off the table”.

Humza Yousaf’s facing mounting pressure to appoint a judge from outside Scotland to examine why it took police so long to apprehend the murderer and serial rapist who was jailed yesterday for at least 36 years.

Former detectives have described the failings of the original murder inquiry as catastrophic and have echoed calls from Emma’s mother for an independent review.
