First stage of Glasgow School of Art restoration begins

More than 5,500 tonnes of fire damaged material has been removed

The first phase of preparation works for the rebuilding Glasgow School of Art’s fire-damaged Mackintosh building has been completed.

The facility was extensively damaged when a blaze broke out in 2018 as it neared the end of a £35 million restoration project following a previous fire in 2014.
