First Minister urges quick end to oil and gas windfall tax

Scrapping levy seen as vital to protect jobs after chancellor meeting

The First Minister says scrapping the windfall tax on oil and gas firms needs to happen “the sooner the better” and warned it’s risking jobs in Scotland.

It comes after industry bosses met with the chancellor, Rachel Reeves, who is understood to have committed to the end of the levy.
