First flight carrying British evacuees lands in the UK

So far 301 people have been rescued as the country teeters on the brink of a bloody civil war

The first flight carrying British evacuees from Sudan has arrived back in the UK, as a major military operation to get citizens out of the capital Khartoum continues.

The UK Government has been widely criticised for responding too slowly to the conflict and today the SNP’s Westminster leader accused the Prime Minister of failing to show “humanity” to those left behind.
