First ‘Edinburghers’ brought back to life at St Giles Cathedral

Visitors to St Giles Cathedral are getting the chance to come face to face with some of the city's original inhabitants, as part of a new exhibition.

Scientific research into medieval citizens found in a burial ground beneath St Giles’ Cathedral has revealed more about some of the first ‘Edinburghers’.

Animated facial reconstructions of five individuals have been created as part of a new exhibition, part of the Edinburgh’s 900th celebrations.
