Crews have spent a third day at the Enva electronic waste facility in Linwood after flames enguled the site on Sunday evening.
The union representing firefighters has now raised concerns over the increase in blazes related to battery recycling facilities.
A spokeperson for the body called for greater legislation in dealing with the disposal and recycling of the batteries.
The issue of public safety was raised in the Scottish Parliament.
