Firefighters protest at Holyrood over budget cuts to service

Officials are confident the service can meet its demands at its busiest time of year

There are fears the Scottish fire service is “less prepared” for bonfire night as the Fire Brigades Union continues to warn of a service in “crisis”.

Hundreds of firefighters turned out to protest at Holyrood today in opposition to cuts.
