Fife man who killed two children applies for parole again

Calls grow to reform system after Robert Thomson, serving life for Buckhaven murders, makes repeated parole bids.

The ex-wife of a man who murdered two of their children in Fife nearly eighteen years ago has been told he’s applied for parole again – after being turned down last year.

Robert Thomson is serving a life sentence for the double killing in Buckhaven.

Now there are calls for the system to be changed to prevent serious criminals like him from making repeated bids for freedom and re-traumatising victims’ families.
