Ferguson Marine secures contract to build Royal Navy warship parts

Chiefs at the state-owned shipyard say the contract marks a 'significant step' in securing new work.

The Ferguson Marine Shipyard in Port Glasgow has secured further work from BAE systems on its new HMS Birmingham warship.

The deal, which follows work awarded by the defence contractor to the yard two years ago, will see three sections of the frigate built on the Clyde.
