Fear of young people losing out as 40 leisure centres to close

North Lanarkshire council wouldn’t go on camera, but said they're dealing with insufficient funding

It’s feared young people will lose out amid plans to cut almost 40 council-run leisure and community centres in North Lanarkshire.

Local authority bosses say they’re facing “tough decisions”, after a review into the condition of venues, usage and footfall.
