A man who lost his son suddenly and unexpectedly is calling for more awareness of a serious threat to the lives of people with epilepsy.
Sudden unexpected death in epilepsy, or SUDEP, has no specific reason for occurring but it’s the leading cause of mortality in people with chronic, uncontrolled epilepsy.
Yet experts say more than half of those living with the condition aren’t aware of it.
