Family push for update to post-mortem system in Scotland

The parents of Richard Stark believe changes to the current system are overdue

MSPs have raised concerns Scotland has “fallen behind” the rest of the UK on how post-mortems are carried out.

The comments came as a Holyrood committee quizzed the country’s top law officer on matters raised in a petition from a bereaved mother.

The Lord Advocate says she recognises “issues of enormous concern” but is clear families should not be given the final say on whether post mortems are carried out.
