The family of a woman who was murdered by her boyfriend at her home in Stirling are calling for an independent inquiry into why Christopher McGowan was out on bail at the time.
But after Claire Inglis’s case was raised in Parliament, the First Minister said he can’t order such an investigation – though he will ask the judiciary and Crown Office to look into it.
