Evacuation order given as Met Office issue red warning for rain

Storm Babet has cause adverse weather conditions across Scotland, with the North East worse hit

Hundreds of people have been asked to evacuate their homes as Storm Babet hits Scotland.

With high winds and increasingly heavy rain expected, residents in Brechin are being urged to move to safer ground as emergency services prepare for what they say could be a challenging night ahead.

Members of police, ambulance and transport bodies all actively monitoring the conditions across the country.
