The family of a Scot set to be evacuated from Sudan have told STV News they’re sick with worry and believe the UK government could have done more to get her home sooner.
The country is on the cusp of a bloody civil war as violence erupted between rival military forces 10 days ago, leaving hundreds dead.
A major operation to evacuate around 2,000 British citizens and their families from the capital Khartoum is now underway after a 3 day ceasefire was agreed.
But Sudanese Scots say they now “fear the worst,” for relatives still in the country, who don’t have a way out.
