Energy bills for households and businesses will come down “for good” as the country drives for clean power by the end of the decade.
That’s according to the UK Government, which has unveiled its Clean Power Action plan.
It aims for the country to achieve a target of 95% clean power across the UK by 2030.
That means up to 50 Gigawatts of offshore wind capacity within the next six years, and around 29 Gigawatts of onshore wind.
However, the Government says these will be the most ambitious reforms to the country’s energy system in a generation.
Some campaigners are worried about what it means to increase transmission infrastructure across the country.
